Narrowband-IoT (and LTE Cat.1, LTE Cat.M, and Cat.NB) are a fast-growing industrial Low Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) technology classified as a 5G technology, and very well suited for applications that require small data transfers over a long period of time.
Low amounts of transferred data results in lower operation costs. Some NB-IoT devices are designed to consume significantly less power resulting in a significantly longer battery life (10 years), which alllows for autonomous operation in remote locations with limited access power sources.
4G LTE IoT devices are considered future-proof, as LTE-M and NB-IoT devices are expected to work with 5G networks using the non-standalone (NSA) architecture.
Why choose us:
- Certification – our modems are certified in various markets globally, whereas some meters will not have appropriate telecommunications certifications for certain regions
- Future-proof – 4G LTE IoT devices are considered future-proof, as LTE-M and NB-IoT devices are expected to work with 5G networks using the non-standalone (NSA) architecture.
- Protocols – our modems are compatible with most metering protocols such as DLMS (Device Language Message Specification), Modbus and M-bus and, if the client requires, we can customize the modems with almost any protocol.
Advantages of NB-IoT:
- Great indoor coverage
- Support for a huge number of connections
- Devices optimized for extended battery life
- Reasonable price
WM Systems has years of experience in developing NB-IoT devices. We offer a wide range of M2M product for this cellular network:
Most industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions need only a low bandwidth, reliable connectivity, and extended battery life. Price is also an important factor: NB-IoT devices have a significantly lower price point than 3G/4G devices.
